Job Summary

The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and visualizing data to support strategic planning and performance improvement across the group of companies. This role requires an experienced professional with deep analytical capabilities, proficiency in data tools, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights. The analyst will work across departments, delivering insights that influence decisions in business development, operations, customer engagement, and financial planning.

Responsibilities

Data Management & Integrity

• Collect, organize, and maintain datasets from multiple departments and business units across the group of companies.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness through regular validation and cleaning processes.
• Maintain structured databases and data sources to support reliable reporting and analytics.

Reporting & Visualization

• Design and generate recurring performance dashboards and management reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
• Present key insights clearly to aid decision-making across units such as Business Development, Operations, Underwriting, and Claims.
• Tailor reports to suit the needs of different stakeholders, including senior executives, department heads, and external partners.

Business & Operational Analysis

• Analyze internal data to identify trends, variances, and business performance gaps.
• Support business units in understanding KPIs such as sales performance, customer retention, claims ratios, operational efficiency, and financial metrics.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis as required to support problem-solving and strategic reviews.

Strategic Insight & Decision Support

• Generate actionable insights to support planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Support market, competitor, and product analysis to identify growth opportunities.
• Provide evidence-based recommendations during strategy sessions and business reviews.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Support

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver tailored analytical solutions.
• Provide support for data requests from executive management, regulators, and business partners.
• Assist departments in making data-driven decisions through training and one-on-one consultations where needed.

Data Protection & Confidentiality

• Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality in handling company-related information, ensuring compliance with data protection laws and internal policies.
• Adhere to the company’s information security guidelines, including proper storage, transmission, and disposal of sensitive materials.
• Promptly report any suspected data breaches or unauthorized access to the appropriate company authority.
• Participate in periodic data protection training to stay informed about evolving security risks and best practices.

General Assignment

• Execute any other duties and tasks that may be designated or assigned by the Company.
• Participate in the knowledge sharing programme of the department and the company
• To provide supports to the Managing Director and Vice Chairman as may be required towards serving the Board, Management and staff.

Qualification

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, or related field.
• Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Google Data Analytics, or Tableau Certification) is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 4–6 years of proven experience in data analysis, preferably in a corporate or multi-business environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in business intelligence, reporting, and analytical tools.

Skills and Competencies

• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and at least one BI/Visualization tool (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Familiarity with data analysis programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is an added advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

KPIs and Performance Metrics

1. Maintain data accuracy with an error rate below 2% per reporting cycle.
2. Support at least 2 cross-functional strategic projects each quarter with actionable insights.
3. Achieve ≥80% stakeholder satisfaction rating on report usefulness and clarity.
4. Document at least 3 data-driven recommendations implemented by business units per quarter.
5. Ensure 100% compliance with data governance and confidentiality standards.
