Job Summary

The Dispatch Rider is responsible for the timely and secure delivery of enrollee ID cards, official HMO documents, medications (as required), and other essential items within and outside the organization. This role plays a vital part in supporting operational efficiency by ensuring prompt dispatch and collection of sensitive materials to and from healthcare providers, enrollees, corporate clients, and internal departments. The Dispatch Rider must maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adhere strictly to safety and data protection guidelines.

Responsibilities

Operational Deliveries

• Dispatch enrollee ID cards, referral letters, authorizations, and other health-related documents to providers and clients.
• Deliver prescribed medications to enrollees or partner facilities as directed by the medical or operations team.
• Pick up and return completed forms, claims, or other documents from healthcare providers or clients.

Confidentiality & Compliance

• Handle all documents and medications with utmost confidentiality and care.
• Adhere strictly to internal protocols for secure transportation of sensitive medical information and items.
• Comply with relevant data protection regulations, especially when handling enrollee or provider documents.

Motorcycle Maintenance & Safety

• Conduct daily inspection of the assigned motorcycle to ensure it is in good condition.
• Report any mechanical issues promptly and ensure routine servicing is completed.
• Always wear the required safety gear (helmet) and follow all traffic laws and company safety policies.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections, including recipient details and delivery acknowledgments.
• Submit daily trip reports and delivery logs to the Administrative Officer.
• Notify supervisor immediately of any delays, delivery challenges, or incidents during trips. Time Management & Communication
• Plan delivery routes effectively to meet deadlines and reduce turnaround time.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with recipients to confirm availability and successful handovers.
• Provide timely updates on delivery status to the relevant internal teams.

General Assignment

• Execute any other duties and tasks that may be designated or assigned by the Company.

Qualification

Education

• Minimum of SSCE/OND.

Experience

• 2–4 years of experience in a dispatch rider role, preferably within an HMO, healthcare, or logistics setting.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong personal discipline with a demonstrable track record of safe riding and minimal or no accident history.
• Good understanding of routes across Lagos and surrounding areas.
• Strong sense of responsibility and confidentiality.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
• Basic motorcycle maintenance knowledge.
• Polite, professional, and reliable demeanour.

KPIs and Performance Metrics

1. Delivery Timeliness: Percentage of deliveries made within agreed timeframes.
2. Safety Record: Maintain zero or minimal accident rate (maximum of one minor preventable incident per review period).
3. Delivery Accuracy: Number of completed deliveries without error or loss.
4. Service Reliability: Rate of successful pickups/deliveries versus complaints or returns.
5. Compliance: Adherence to confidentiality and safety standards.
6. Motorcycle Downtime: Frequency of avoidable delays due to poor motorcycle condition or negligence.
